I have a alpha Romeo 159 2.4 turbo diesel and it is a pure delight to drive. Very sexy to look at and has a very sporty feel whilst driving. It handles beautifully and has a ton of pace. Only criticism is its a bit low to the ground so have to watch steep decent car parks.
Driver appeal. Where the 156 was a taut-riding and nimble car, the 159 is a little softer and more mature. However, the upside is a confident, assured and almost vice-free experience. A bigger car than its predecessor, the 159 copes better with road imperfections and feels more stable when tackling twisty roads at speed.
The Alfa Romeo 159 had many variations, and all of them were gorgeous to look at but are they worth buying, or are they just "style above substance"? 15 year
The old adage is that for the time it does work, it’s a magical experience. I feel that some Alfas (such as this 156) are better than others. They put a fair amount of money at the time in to improving reliability as all manufacturers were judged muchly by the JD Power surveys at the time and Alfa wanted to be better.
View mpg & specs for any version. The 159 will to hold its value better than the 156 and about as well as a Volkswagen Passat or Honda Accord, although not as well as an Audi A4. Alfa 159 running costs make reasonable reading, with the exception of the 3.2-litre, which is thirsty. All other models can do more than 30mpg and the diesels are
The Alfa Romeo 159 will be, and we’re sorry to do this to you, twenty years old next year. Yes, we know, that doesn’t seem right but we checked and it is. That makes it a bona fide modern classic. It also, somewhat sadly, means the 159 is getting a bit thin on the ground these days. Alfas always suffer as the years go on.
Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon emissions are fairly competitive – especially in terms of CO2. The 159 performs adequately in terms of CO2 outputs and despite being a sporty brand, there are even ECO models available. Powered by the 1.9 JTDM engine with power lowered to 120bhp (from 150bhp), they emit 140g/km of CO2 while returning 53mpg.

This is the leftover from the GM tie-up where GM were given the rights to the 1.9 JTD engine and in exchange the Fiat Group received the 1.9 2.2 and Holden V6 petrol engines. A tie-up which the Fiat Group in general and Alfa Romeo in particular regret to this day. if you're looking for a 2.4 get the later 210 version.
159. Hello dear Alfa Romeo community. I got my drivers license about 9 months ago, so I am fairly new to the actual driving etc. in the car world, while being a huge car guy for as far as I can remember. I am currently contemplating to buy some sort of little side/passion-project and out of the many cars I have been considering so far, the Alfa
