I am not sure if that is a bug but it does seem unfair when you beat the whole empire's army worth 1000 men. and get a measly amount of 60 renown. I think at clan tier 3 you can talk to the leader of a faction and request to be his vassal (at clan tier 2 you can only request to be a merc).
