Hi Davie - Spent more time on the glow plug problem today. I now believe the 20 A fuse is for the cabin heater, I need to confirm this. I traced the power supply and found the glow plugs are mounted at the side of the engine block viewed from the front of the car - but well hidden - and not on top of the cylinder head.

Check continuity at the following contacts/switch positions on the panel at connector C2 with contact 4 being ground:
